Real time modelling was done for hurricanes Irma, Jose, Katia and Maria, occurred between august and September 2017 in order to estimate the economic losses associated to their wake. The hazard was computed with the final hurricane track reported by the Tropical Cyclone Guidance Project by NCAR’s Research Applications Laboratory with coordinates, wind speed, and pressure data.

For risk assessment, the exposure from the Global Assessment Report 2015 with a 5×5 kilometer resolution was used.

Different reports for were generated, considering the incertitude associated to this type of events and updating the potential economic losses in accordance with the progress of the hurricanes.
