Omar Darío Cardona, General Manager of Ingeniar Risk Intelligence, was invited as a speaker at the “Infrastructure for Competitiveness” event, organized by the Colombian Chamber of Infrastructure. This event took place on May 17th and 18th, bringing together leaders and experts from the sector to discuss the challenges and opportunities in infrastructure in Colombia.
During his presentation, the Global Infrastructure Resilience Index (GIRI) was introduced. Developed by an international consortium under the direction of Ingeniar Risk Intelligence for the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure, with the support of the UNDP, GIRI is an innovative tool that assesses countries’ capacity to resist, absorb, and recover from adverse events based on their level of risk. This valuable contribution not only provides a comprehensive view of infrastructure resilience on a global scale but also emphasizes the importance of investing in sustainable and future-proof projects.
