This activity, led by INGENIAR, took place in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, on 18, 19 and 20 September 2018, as part of the project of Development of a Drought Risk Profile for the Northern Triangle of Central America, in the framework of the operation CSD/RND RG-T2759 – ATN/MD-15800- RG of the Inter-American Development Bank.
The INGENIAR team conducted the project, which was done with the Drought Pro program, developed by the same consulting team for drought risk assessment.
Drought Pro allows the estimation of losses in crops exposed to drought events, by using vulnerability models that relate the deficit of water available for the crop growth and production.
The objective of the workshop was to present the results of the Drought Risk Profile for the agricultural sector of El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras, the three countries that conform the region of the northern triangle of Central America, located in the Central American dry corridor.
The training also aimed to reach a common understanding of the proposed methodology for drought risk assessment in the agricultural sector, and to become a space for discussion and analysis of results among the participants.
