Ingeniar participated in the technical workshop on sand and dust storm risk assessment methodology held in Geneva, Switzerland, on October 30 and 31, 2019. The workshop, organized by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), served as a discussion forum on how to best define a methodology for assessing the impact of sand and dust storms in the Asia-Pacific region with a view to 2030.
Experts in various fields such as risk modeling, sand storm analysis and forecasting, land management, and risk reduction policies gathered with the aim of guiding the work of APDIM (Asian and Pacific Centre for the Development of Disaster Information Management) in developing a risk assessment that provides useful results for informed decision-making in the development of the Regional Action Plan on sand and dust storms.
